Dr. Rajit Ratha was the Director of Business Development in the Biogenetic Division of Oscorp in Manhattan.
Biography[]
Working on a Cure[]
Dr. Rajit Ratha was in Dr. Connors' department when Peter enters Oscorp posing as an intern. Peter accidentally bumps into Ratha, dropping his files, Peter helps Ratha to gather the files in the floor, after he has all of his files back on his hand, Ratha continues walking. Curious, Peter follows Ratha, unnoticed, and sees him about to enter a room until he was stopped by two Oscorp workers and wanders off with them. Peter enters the room which is full of genetically altered spiders, which later results in Peter getting bitten and receiving superpowers.
Later, Ratha visits Dr. Connors in his office. Ratha states that Norman Osborn's sickness is rapidly increasing, and that Connors needs to begin human trials immediately. Connors refuses, saying that his new serum isn't ready yet, and, as a result, Ratha threatens to fire Connors. Ratha then takes some of Connors' serum, stating that he will be testing it on limbless, retired military men and women in a veteran's hospital by passing it off as a vaccine. He leaves, and, in desperation, Connors ends up using it on himself. Spider-Man
The Lizard[]
Later that night, Ratha was being driven to get to the hospital when Connors, now transformed into the Lizard, begins attacking the citizens. As people flee from their cars, Ratha remains in his, confused as to what is going on. The Lizard then attacks him, Lizard ends up throwing the car off, Ratha survives and manages to get out, as the Lizard prepares to kill him, but is saved by Spider-Man. Spider-Man
Death[]
As Connors had vanished with no trace, Ratha begins to track Connors and discovers he's on the sewers.
Ratha arrives to the sewers, as Connors begins to transform into the Lizard after telling Peter Parker about his plans, Ratha shoots at Connors, leaving him for death and sedates Peter, Ratha telsl Peter that need the research, Peter tells him that it got faults, Ratha notes that it worked on him, Ratha wonder why Peter is the only perfect cross-species example, asking if he has any idea on who he really is, Ratha then tries to help Peter get up stating they must go. As Peter gets up, Lizard appears out of the nowhere, he tosses Peter aside, and he grabs Ratha from the neck. And bites Ratha head off. Spider-Man
