Optimus Major is the leader of ALL Autobots. After his visit to Earth in 2010, the Decepticon leader Megatron left Kaon and ravaged Earth before Optimus could make a move. Optimus depolyed Autobot teams all over Earth and one team on the Earth's moon. His second-in-command is Ironhide, a trusted friend. He transforms into a mix of a Kenworth W900 and Peterbilt 379.

- Optimus's leader was named Alpha Major. But Alpha left to join the Cybertron Council and became Alpha Trion.
- Optimus got his name because he is very optimistic.
- His girlfriend, Elita-1 (or Elita-One), is ALSO a part of the Council.
